Designing to Survive

As we try to understand the role of architecture post-pandemic, we have to first better understand the ways we inhabit buildings and move through space.

While I was the photo editor for this entire issue of The Washington Post Magazine, the lead article by Pulitzer-winning art and architecture critic Philip Kennicott stole the show, exploring how the pandemic and post-pandemic life have dramatically shaped architectural design. The issue’s cover was later featured in the book Bosco Verticale by Stefano Boeri Architetti.
